I'm not among the fortunate who was born into her element, nor did I wake up one morning in an 'Ah-hah! moment' knowing I'd found it. But when I discovered 'it' it was like the feeling of coming home after many years away; I just knew it was where I was meant to be. The 'it' is silver and the 'where' is immersion in its purity, its malleability, its luster, and the singular way it allows me to give form to my imagination.

We are creative beings not least because there is joy in it. There's joy in completion, in holding a finished piece before your eyes to see the effort and the hours given shape as something unique. There is joy, too, in the craft, in discovering just the right tool or improvising a better technique. If you're in your element there is joy in all of it.

I design and hand fabricate every piece in my studio on Gabriola, one of British Columbia's Southern Gulf Islands. I feel privileged to be here, surrounded by ocean and forest, able to spend my days (and often my evenings) doing what I love. The joy of creation and of being surrounded by nature is the soul of each piece I make, and what I hope each piece conveys in its own unique way.

A note about teaching and classes

It has been a privilege to share my love of jewellery making through classes I have taught in my studio and on behalf of businesses and organizations here in British Columbia.  However, as my business consumes more and more of my time and attention I have found it difficult to also meet the demands that conducting classes impose. Regrettably, teaching cannot therefore remain a core part of my business.  Exceptions may be made as time and circumstance permit. Please email or call me.
